  10.  This is a General Chat echo for Spitfire BBS Sysops and users. If message 
  11. traffic becomes a problem to the participants of this echo the Moderators 
  12. may restrict access. Discussions which relate to the Business Practices of 
  13. Buffalo Creek Software are Off-Topic. This is a General Chat echo. Take the
  14. technical questions to the SPITFIRE echo. The entire purpose of the echo is
  15. to say hello, talk about old times, talk about the kids, the family, etc.

  18. 1. Play nice. (This covers a lot of ground, but you know what it means). If 
  19.    you don't play nice, we'll have to separate you.
  20.  
  21. 2. This Echo is available to all persons interested in Spitfire BBS 
  22.    Software. Please set your security level high enough so that the casual 
  23.    user does not fall into the echo by mistake. All FidoNet rules and 
  24.    regulations apply.

  26. 3. A word to drive-by posters, (O.K. two words) GO AWAY! If you want to 
  27.    chat POLITELY with the Spitfire Sysops and users have at it. If your just 
  28.    here to make noise we would rather not hear it.

  30. 4. Keep foul language to yourself and don't quote somebody elses foul 
  31.    language either.
  32.  
  33. 5. All messages and subsequent replies shall be of a positive nature. We all
  34.    slip up from time to time, but as general practice let's try to keep 
  35.    things as friendly as possible.    
  36.  
  37. 6. Don't be easily annoyed. Be helpful and Considerate. We were all new at
  38.    this at one time and had to follow the learning curve.
  39.  
  40. 7. No ANSI Graphics are permitted in any message. Keep signatures down to 
  41.    three lines or less. 
  42.  
  43. 8. Keep your quoting to the minimum necessary to establish the context of 
  44.    your reply. Certainly, don't quote more than you originate.
  45.  
  46. 9. TRY NOT TO TYPE WITH THE CAPS KEY DOWN. This is known as
  47.    shouting, and is bad typing practice. It is also hard to read.

  49. 10.No Encrypted mail flow is allowed.

  51. 11.Discussions that relate to Hacking of ANY Spitfire BBS Program, 
  52.    INCLUDING Spitfire Utility Programs will result in IMMEDIATE feed cuts!

  55. 12.Please leave ALL moderating to the Moderators. If you have a complaint,
  56.    send me a netmail message anytime or phone me at (205) 232-5082 between 
  57.    6pm and 9pm Central Standard Time, Seven days a week.

  59. 13.Gating the FidoNet Spitfire_Chat Echo shall be directed by the Moderator 
  60.    with the assistance of Co-Moderator(s).  All Networks Gating into this 
  61.    echo must abide by this Echo's Rules and Current FidoNet Policy.

  63. 14.The position of a Co-Moderator will be handled by appointment by the
  64.    Moderator. The current Co-Moderator is Ken Pearce. All policy decisions 
  65.    will be made by the Moderator of this Echo, Mike Weaver at 
  66.    1:3670/3@fidonet.org.

  68. 15.DO NOT respond to any Moderation messages in the echo. If you do not 
  69.    agree with this policy then DO NOT use the echo! NetMail the Moderator 
  70.    if you wish to respond to a Moderation Message. Moderation Messages will 
  71.    be clearly defined as those in which the Moderator use their title 
  72.    directly beneath their name at the end of a message.

  74. 16.Messages determined to be excessively annoying by the Moderator will not 
  75.    be tolerated and will result in a SINGLE (1) NetMail Message warning 
  76.    from the Moderator prior to official action being taken as outlined in 
  77.    the current FidoNet policies.

  79. 17.References to gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters and other similar rodents 
  80.    are allowed.

  82. 18.That's it, except that if someone comes up with a new and improved way to 
  83.    aggravate all and sundry we reserve the right to make a rule to fit the 
  84.    occasion.
